For starters, what is the "au kaumbo"? All in good time...but let me shed some light. Back in July, some of my friends said "play Smite, it's a fun game". I tried it, meh, I think I'll stick to League. Fast forward to September, I meet up with some old friends at my college and find out they are getting into Smite. So we play that night, things went south fast. Two people at level 3, with someone at level 12 (me, leveling up in smite isn't hard early on)...we got paired up against some experienced players and they just destroyed us. So I let them level up and I went back in with them at the start of November. One of them took a liking to Arachne (Mike D), another (Logan) liked Au Kuang (AK), and personally I took a liking to Hades (starting out I picked the only "ghost" god...who happened to be one of the most destructive characters in the game...). We played a joust (a 3v3 fight), and for the last teamfight when I engaged as Hades, Loan ulted the 3 enemy teammates and killed them all instantly. Mike D (using the initial since i'm Mike as well lol), waiting to pick off any survivors as Arachne, just was amazed to see the devastation. Meanwhile, Logan is speechless and can only say "...the Au Kuambo..."
So the original was Hades, Au Kuang, Arachne. Problem is...people can escape the Hades engage, meaning the Kuambo is useless essentially maybe getting 1 person instead of a whole team. So some refining found Mike D enjoying Cupid, so throw down the Cupid ult, the Hades ult, and the Au Kuang ult and you have an instant win.
Recently though, the Au Kuambo got a bit of an upgrade. A while back I purchased the Hades golden skin, Mike D got Cupid's and Logan picked up the AK golden skin the other. We had to test the golden boys out in an arena. The other team wasn't too frightening, aside from a level 10 Arachne (with the legendary skin, you get that if you get the golden skin and level up your god to level 10). After a back and forth battle, it came down the a score of 2-25, with us losing. Seeing a blaze of glory as the only way to end it, the Au Kuambo goes in full swing, killing four of them instantly. Now at 2-5, we regroup and buy last items. They kill a minion of ours, 1-5. One more point and we lose. Cooldown reduction got us back in action fast as we got the Kuambo up one last time and see the game ending screen. Logan scored a kill, but was a final minion of ours killed? We watch the counter...1-0. Good as gold.
The Au Kuambo strikes it again!
So if this holiday break, you're feeling bored, download smite and look up SpinDragun and add me. I'm usually hanging around looking for a game around 11pm-3am eastern (after this Saturday, 12/14/13). The game's still in beta, but aside from some mild bugs it's really fun.
Happy Holidays everyone, and #BlameCody for all! Remember, when in doubt, blame Cody (trend it lol).
